Abstract

This paper is based on a series of studies on a learning program that has continuity with the real world for fostering communication skills and aimed to evaluate this program through an interview survey conducted with students of the program as research participants. Analysis is conducted using the steps for coding and theorization to examine its meaning and significance.
The results indicate that, four months after employment, the participants recognized their strengths in the workplace with regard to “public speaking” and “practical work related to e-mail correspondence and hospitality” and acknowledged the significance of the program through practical learning. Furthermore, the study infers that they developed a habit of considering how to communicate in the workplace. In other words, the findings suggest that the participants of the learning program will be able to apply what they have learned in terms of skills to communication in the workplace as new employees with certain degrees of relaxation of tension, a sense of security, and confidence.
